Castrio Islam, Representative of European Council Evaluated Russia’s Actions as Occupation

Castrio Islam , the representative of the Monitoring Committee of the European Council , evaluated the actions carried out by Russia in Georgia as occupation.
As Castrio Islam stated, the abrogation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia is unacceptable for the European Council.
‘The premier target of my visit is to have a clear picture of the situation and to slam the occupational actions of Russia. We will report regarding the situation in Georgia the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council.’ – Castrio Islam stated.
As Castrio Islam underlined, the committee cooperates actively with the European - Council - members to fix a joint position regarding the issue.
Matias Iorsh, the representative of the Monitoring Committee, remarked that he hopes that NATO Ministerial will reach a decision regarding Georgia’s integration in NATO.
‘At the Summit of Bucharest, Georgia was denied to receive MAP. As it was very important the way the election will be held in Georgia. I have an impression that Russia’s actions are base closely on this denial.’ – Matias Iorsh said.
The representative of the European Council stated that the Presidential election was held better in Georgia and remarked that exactly this fact should be a decisive factor for receiving MAP.
